25 year customer.
Rueben was very helpful initially. However what was explained by him to me the first day & again the second day were not accurate. I had the incredible pleasure of having this explained to me ad nauseum by Joe the store manager while trying to return the phone I didn't want because I was beyond angry at being duped. Take your Vaseline because P Diddy & Epstein have nothing on these guys. Joe made sure to let me know that we Weren't getting out of there without paying another $50.
Not only will they explain HOW they screwed you but also explain how it's your own fault. On Saturday all I wanted to do was return the phone. Unfortunately I had to return it to the SAME store. And listen to Joe drone on about how well we were screwed & how mistaken I was for not trusting them, not waiting 60 days & 2 excruciating phone bills to see my massive savings & calling Verizon directly was a huge mistake because they can't see what was done or help me. Only he could, but I didn't do it his way, poor stupid customer.
So, originally we had to pay $192 before allowed to leave the store which was in Rueben's words was "Sales Tax" I was very shocked at the tax, however he explained that the phones were valued at $800 each so that's the tax on $1,600.
In reality, as Joe gleefully pointed out on Sunday, (yes my 4th trip to the store) it was sales tax, part of the buyout, setup fees etc. Oh, and Joe was very happy to point out all the extra fees & charges plus the $15 discount that Rueben gave us, such a swell guy!
Then they got us the phone bill, as Joe says the first bill is higher (more than double) $160 of activation fees, then on the next bill one time fees of $130 for the new plan setup. Total fees $482. Oh, we were supposed to come in at that point if we had a problem ( 60 days later & stuck with a plan & phone you don't want.)
I called Verizon directly, and had everything extra removed, Before going in to return the phone. They were kind. They did listen.
If you go there for an issue take your vaseline & a cushion. They'll spend hours talking about how they explained everything & you didn't wait long enough for your promos to kick in & you should have come back to the store (I live 3 hours away & 2 visits should have been enough.) so basically it's all your fault & you're going to be charged for walking in the door. Save yourself a ton of money & buy a phone from anyplace else, like swappa.com
